TECNO has introduced a new generation of smartphones aimed at everyday users, placing photography and practical artificial intelligence at the heart of its latest offering.
The devices were unveiled during this year’s Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, where the company also outlined its wider plans to build a more connected ecosystem of devices.
At the centre of the launch is the CAMON 50 Series, which includes the CAMON 50, CAMON 50 Pro and CAMON 50 Ultra 5G. The three models are now available in Kenya, targeting users who want strong performance and high-quality imaging without stepping into premium price territory.

Speaking during the launch, TECNO’s Chief Marketing Officer Laury Bai said the new lineup reflects a shift toward technology that fits into daily routines rather than feeling complex or out of reach.
“Consumers now want their AI to reflect their individuality, be readily available and deliver true value in practical daily life scenarios. This is part of the reason why TECNO has been committed to building Practical AI for All. Under this vision, we are crafting devices with practical AI functions, enhancing the AI ecosystem, and delivering an intuitive, premium experience,” noted Bai.
The CAMON 50 Series places heavy focus on photography. Each device is fitted with a 50-megapixel main camera, while the Pro and Ultra models add telephoto capabilities designed to capture distant subjects with clarity. The phones also feature AI-powered tools that assist with framing, motion capture and low-light photography.
The imaging performance has drawn attention from global testing firm DXOMARK, which highlighted improvements in colour accuracy and tone representation.
“With the CAMON 50 Ultra 5G, TECNO’s proprietary Universal Tone technology confirms a bright and engaging image style that closely matches how users naturally see the scene. Combined, these strengths will make the CAMON 50 Ultra 5G stand out as a compelling choice for accurate and inclusive skin tone rendering,” stated Frédéric Guichard CEO DXOMARK.
Beyond photography, the devices include a range of built-in tools such as an AI art gallery, image-to-video features and a voice assistant designed to help users complete tasks quickly. The Ultra model also comes with a large battery and enhanced durability, a key consideration for users who depend on their phones throughout the day.
In a separate announcement, TECNO revealed a partnership with Tonino Lamborghini, marking its entry into more design-focused products.

“Tonino Lamborghini and TECNO worked on a distinctive design language, materials and tactile perception, a balance between power and elegance and a product experience that reflects personality. When heritage and innovation meet with intention, we do not simply launch a product range but shape a new expression of lifestyle and experiences,” underscored Ginevra Lamborghini.
The partnership has already produced a compact gaming mini PC and a special edition smartphone, with more devices expected as the collaboration grows.
With the CAMON 50 Series now in the Kenyan market, TECNO is positioning itself to appeal to a wide range of users, from casual smartphone owners to content creators looking for reliable tools. The launch signals increased competition in the mid-range segment, where buyers are placing greater value on camera quality, battery life and features that make everyday tasks easier.
